Yoga Mats
Hugger Mugger
Founded in 1986 by Sara Chambers in Salt Lake City, Utah, Hugger Mugger Yoga Products began with the creation of innovative yoga props, including the first nonskid “sticky” yoga mat designed specifically for yoga practice. Today the Tapas Original Mat is still made in the USA and is available in multiple different sizes and colors. Watch out though as they do offer other yoga mats, but those are manufactured overseas.
SUGA
SUGA was founded in 2016 by surfer and yogi Brian Shields in Encinitas, California, with a mission to address environmental concerns by recycling discarded neoprene wetsuits into high-quality yoga mats. The company manufactures its mats in the USA, and offers two sizes: the standard mat measures 72 inches by 25 inches, and the XL mat is 75 inches by 26 inches. Both are 5mm thick, providing ample cushioning. The mats feature a pebbled surface that offers excellent grip without being sticky, and their closed-cell foam structure prevents the absorption of dirt and bacteria, making them easy to clean.
JadeYoga
JadeYoga was established in 2000 by Dean Jerrehian, evolving from a family business specializing in natural rubber rug pads. Recognizing the need for non-slip yoga mats, the company introduced the Harmony mat, the first natural rubber yoga mat, offering superior grip and comfort. After looking on their website, it appears that the yoga mats they offer that are made from natural rubber are made in the USA, while mats made from other materials are not (the cotton and Dharba grass mats are made in India). The company is known for its commitment to sustainability, planting a tree for every mat sold, resulting in over two million trees planted to date.
Bean Products
Bean Products Inc. has been a leading manufacturer of eco-friendly home goods and wellness products for over 30 years. They are based in Chicago, Illinois, and produce a variety of items including a yoga mat crafted from 100% natural cotton, providing a soft and breathable surface ideal for low-impact exercises.
R-Yolo
Following the loss of her mother to congestive heart failure and diabetes in 2014, founder Donna Lee embarked on a journey toward health and mindfulness. Concerned about the cleanliness of shared yoga equipment, she envisioned a machine-washable and dryable yoga mat. This led to the founding of R-Yolo in 2020. R-Yolo’s mats are handcrafted in the USA, and they have been granted a patent for their innovative design.
The signature R-Yolo mat features a three-layer construction: thick yet lightweight padding, sustainable non-slip material, and a machine-washable surface. This design offers enhanced comfort, stability, and hygiene, making it suitable for yoga, Pilates, and other mat-based exercises. Please note that while manufacturing takes place in the USA, some of the material used to produce them is imported from Turkey.
Yoloha
Yoloha was founded by Chris Willey in 2014 and emerged from a fusion of his passions for surfing and yoga. Initially experimenting with cork on surfboards, Willey recognized its potential for yoga mats due to its non-slip properties. With the help of his parents, he handcrafted the first cork yoga mat in his garage, and the rest is history. I took an extensive look at the mats on their website, and as far as I can tell, there’s only one model (the Unity XL Cork Yoga Mat) that is listed as being made in USA, along with some of the sling and mat straps that they offer.
Exercise Mats
WellnessMats
WellnessMats began operating in 1996 and manufactures all of its products in the USA. The company’s fitness mats are constructed from 100% polyurethane, which provides exceptional comfort by suspending body weight and reducing joint impact during exercise. These mats feature non-slip surfaces, are stain, chemical, puncture, and tear-resistant, and are easy to clean due to their antimicrobial properties. They offer 20-year comprehensive warranty – you can’t really complain about that!
Rogue Fitness
Rogue Fitness was founded in 2007 by Bill Henniger in Toledo, Ohio, and began as an e-commerce platform selling other companies’ products. Over time, the company transitioned into manufacturing its own fitness gear and today operates from a 600,000-square-foot facility in Columbus, Ohio. They are very committed to offering USA-made products and state on their website that “since day one, we have worked to source locally whenever possible.” Their product line includes the Rogue Individual Mat, which is designed for versatile fitness applications.
Resilite
Resilite has been a leading manufacturer of protective mats for over six decades, and its products are used for wrestling, gymnastics, cheerleading, pre-school, tumbling, martial arts, and more. The company was established in a garage in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, and has since expanded its operations to a state-of-the-art facility located in Northumberland, PA. Their product line includes a variety of mats designed for fitness and stretching activities, constructed with high-quality materials to ensure longevity and optimal performance.

SuperMats
Since 1985, SuperMats has established itself as a leading manufacturer of high-quality residential and commercial mats and specialty flooring. The company is veteran-owned and actively promotes the hiring of veterans. SuperMats’ headquarters, along with its packaging, distribution, and rubber manufacturing facilities are located Elk River, MN, while their vinyl manufacturing facility is located in Fairmount, GA. Their range includes many different types of fitness mats, including mats for treadmills, stationary bikes, weigh benches and more.
G-Floor
G-Floor was started in 1998 by Brett Sneed and his father, Don, originally offering the world’s largest garage floor protector. Since then they have expanded to offer a wide selection of products, sizes, textures and colors to cover the floors of virtually any commercial or residential space. Their products are made from 100% polyvinyl and are manufactured in the heartland of America, in Emporia, Kansas. Their range includes exercise equipment mats that are designed to protect floors from damage caused by heavy workout machines and feature a non-slip surface to ensure stability during workouts.
