Protecting our skin from the sun’s powerful rays is important all of the time, but especially during the summer months when it’s at its most intense. And if you’d prefer to turn to a ‘Made in USA’ product to provide you with this protection, you’ve got plenty of options. I made a list of companies that produce their sunscreen domestically.
Protekt
Protekt is run by veterans and all of its sunscreens are formulated with zinc oxide as the only active ingredient, meaning it’s free from chemicals and parabens and is safe for the whole family. They have both SPF50 and SPF30 options, as well as lotion, spray and stick formats.
Vibriance
Vibriance’s SPF 50 sunscreen is designed to not only protect your skin, but also moisturize it and give you a subtle foundation effect that blends perfectly with all complexions.
All Good
All Good is known for creating skincare products that use clean, botanical-based ingredients (organic whenever possible) that have a positive impact on your health as well as the environment. Their sunscreen is no different and is available in a variety of formats, including lotion, spray and butter.
Babo Botanicals
Babo Botanicals sells both SPF30 and SPF50 sunscreens in several different forms (lotion, fluid, spray and balm). They’re fragrence-free, dermatologist-tested and use plant-based ingredients. All of their products are made in the USA.
Bare Republic
Bare Republic makes what it calls “Adventure-Proof” sunscreen, allowing people to enjoy the outdoors fully without having to worry. Featuring clean-ingredient formulas, it’s dermatologist-tested and comes in a lotion or a spray.
Coola
Coola claims its products are “SPF Perfected”. Its organic sunscreens can be applied as a lotion, spray, stick or serum. Coola HQ is located in Carlsbad, California, and all of its products are made in the USA.
Badger
Badger is a mission-driven family-owned company located in the woods of New Hampshire (their sunscreens are made here). Since 2017 they’ve been an FDA-registered drug manufacturing facility and they offer sunscreen products for the whole family, ranging from SPF30 up to SPF50.
Dune Suncare
Dune is a company that was born during the 2020 pandemic and after much work to perfect the formulation, now makes an invisible gel suncare line that is packed with clinically proven skincare benefits and has won multiple awards. It’s proudly made in the USA.
Block Island Organics
Block Island Organics makes a zinc-only (no chemicals) SPF30 sunscreen that is reef-safe, eco-friendly and biodegradable. For 9 years running the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has named it a “Top-Rated Recreational Sunscreen / Best Beach & Sport Sunscreen”.
Purocell
