Here’s another item that is used most days in the average household and is easy to switch to an American-made option. There are LOTS of laundry detergents in all shapes and sizes – from pods to sheets to bars – produced right here. I’ve made a list of the options I’ve found up until now for you.

Dropps offers a variety of eco-friendly laundry detergents and products that are made from plant and mineral-based ingredients. The company is on a mission to reduce single-use plastic, using packaging that is made from recyclable materials. They offer a variety of different options for sensitive skin, as well as detergents for everyday cleaning and activewear.
Clean People.
Clean People has really grown in popularity recently with all of its products being made in either the USA or Canada. From what I can tell, the laundry sheets they offer appear to be made in Canada, while the laundry pods are produced in the USA (at least that is how they are labeled on their Amazon store). They’re so confident in their product that they offer a guarantee whereby you can return opened or unopened detergent packs and get a full refund if you’re not happy. They will cover the shipping cost too. Can’t say fairer than that!
Molly’s Suds
The founder of Molly’s Suds is a qualified pediatric nurse and mom who started investigating the effects of many of the common ingredients in store-bought laundry detergents. She was shocked by what she found. Many of these ingredients have serious consequences for our health, so she set out to make a better alternative that cleans your clothes just as well, but doesn’t contain any of the harmful chemicals. Most consumers would agree that she succeeded!
Charlie’s Soap
Charlie’s Soap has been around for over 50 years and has been produced in North Carolina since the beginning. They are EPA Safer Choice Certified and don’t contain any of the nasty stuff (parabens, sulfates, dyes, preservatives or phosphates). Instead, they’re made from pure, sustainably sourced ingredients.
Branch Basics

The founder of Rockin’ Green is a mom who was fed up with the mislabeling of so-called “green” detergents and their performance. She thought she could do better and today they offer a range of laundry detergents that are SLS free, plant-based and environmentally conscious. They offer different options for the type of water you may have in your area (hard or soft). That’s pretty cool!
Grab Green
Grab Green goes the extra mile to be ultra-transparent about the ingredients used in their laundry detergents (you can consult the full list on their product pages). The detergent comes in “powder pods” as opposed to the more typical liquid pods and contains only naturally-derived plant and mineral-based ingredients.
