Come the warmer weather the plants in your yard need a regular supply of water to survive. If you try your best to buy ‘Made in USA’ as often as you can, with garden hoses you’re in luck. There are several companies that offer a great product made right here.
Gilmour
Gilmour manufactures a rather impressive 190 million feet of hose per year in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. They offer lots of different models, so whether you need a lightweight hose or something more heavy-duty, they’ve got you covered.
Dramm
Dramm’s website is not the most user-friendly, but they do sell garden hoses made in the USA, and that’s what counts. They are molded from EPDM rubber, which is more resistant to cracking and separating, and they are available in 5/8″ and 3/4″ diameters.
Teknor Apex
Teknor Apex has been around for 100 years and still proudly makes a lot of its garden hoses in the USA. Be careful though, as not all Teknor Apex hoses are manufactured here. Avoid the Nexflex and Zero-G product lines. The NeverKink and Professional/Heavy/Medium Duty models are ‘Made in USA’.
Flexon
Flexon owns and operates manufacturing facilities in Newark, New Jersey and Anderson, South Carolina, and has been producing garden hoses since 1956. They make 3 standard models (light, medium & heavy) for all-purpose garden use that should be a good fit for most people, as well as a range of hoses for more specialized uses.
On the product pages for the H2Zero, Flextreme, Soaker or Sprinkler ranges, it doesn’t specifically state that they are made in the USA, so you might want to avoid those.
Water Right
Water Right makes a range of garden hoses in Oregon. Started by a passionate couple, they set out with the lofty goal of making the best garden hose in the world. They spent 2-3 years conducting research and testing to land on the designs they sell today, which are constructed from 100% prime polyurethane. This material is drinking water safe (by FDA & NSF standards) and they say it kinks less.
Rain Bird
Rain Bird offers a heavy-duty garden hose in a couple of different sizes. It’s constructed from 100% EDPM rubber and is proudly made in the USA.
ELEY
ELEY is better known for its hose reels, but they also sell a 5/8-inch polyurethane garden hose in a range of different lengths. It’s 100% drinking water safe, is lightweight and they claim it has “legendary kink resistance”.
