A good Dutch oven is one of those kitchen workhorses that just gets better with age (mine has faithfully produced countless meals for over a decade). If you’re looking for Dutch ovens that are made right here in the USA, this is the list for you. I did the research and found numerous options that are manufactured domestically.

Field Company
Field Company was founded by brothers Stephen and Chris Muscarella in 2015 and creates high-quality cast iron cookware inspired by vintage American designs. Their products are 100% made in the USA using recycled iron from American vendors and crafted through traditional green sand casting methods. Their product line two different Dutch Ovens, pre-seasoned with grapeseed oil for a natural non-stick surface without synthetic coatings.

Lodge Cast Iron
Lodge Cast Iron has been around since 1896 and is a renowned family-owned American manufacturer of cast iron cookware. They operate their original foundry in South Pittsburg and a second facility that was opened 2017 and that increased production capacity by 75%. Their Dutch oven line includes traditional cast iron models and colorful enameled versions with porcelain coating that eliminates seasoning needs. Some of their enameled Dutch ovens are made overseas, so read descriptions carefully.

Nest Homeware
Nest Homeware was founded in 2013 by Rhode Island School of Design graduate Matt Cavallaro, and creates cast iron cookware in Providence, Rhode Island (it is cast and machined in Indiana before being finished and seasoned in Rhode Island). Drawing inspiration from nature, their USA-made products include a 3.5-quart Cast Iron Dutch Oven featuring a machined smooth interior to minimize sticking and is pre-seasoned with organic flaxseed oil for a naturally non-stick surface.

Finex USA
Finex Cast Iron Cookware Company creates heirloom-quality cast iron cookware in Portland, Oregon. After being acquired by Lodge Cast Iron in 2019, from what I can tell manufacturing relocated to Lodge’s foundry in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Their Dutch oven line includes 3-quart, 5-quart, and 7-quart sizes featuring a distinctive octagonal shape with “speed cool” stainless steel spring handles inspired by antique wood stoves.

All American 1930
All American 1930 was founded as a product division of Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in 1930 and continues a rich heritage of American manufacturing that began with Abraham Schwartz and Dave Balkansky’s 1909 metal scrap business. They are mainly known for their pressure cookers, but expanded their kitchenware line to include Dutch ovens. These Dutch ovens are made from heavy-duty cast aluminum, making them about 2.5 times lighter than traditional cast iron, and come with a premium PFAS-free non-stick coating.

Smithey
Smithey Ironware Company designs and manufactures premium cast iron and carbon steel cookware inspired by vintage pieces. They are based in North Charleston in the historic Navy Yard Industrial Campus, and expanded in 2024 with a $3.1 million investment in a new distribution facility to support increased production. Their Dutch oven collection includes 3.5-quart, 5.5-quart, and 7.25-quart sizes featuring polished interior finishes for naturally non-stick surfaces and tight-fitting lids for moisture retention.

Borough Furnace
Borough Furnace is a family-owned business that handcrafts cast iron cookware. The company began in Syracuse, New York, and later expanded to a 20,000-square-foot facility in Owego in the Finger Lakes region. They produce the only enameled cast iron Dutch ovens 100% made in the USA. Their 5.5-quart Enameled Dutch Oven features a tight-fitting, knob-free lid that recirculates condensation to enhance cooking. The enamel glaze prevents rusting, eliminates seasoning needs, simplifies cleaning, and allows cooking acidic foods without flavor transfer. They also offer a regular cast iron Dutch oven.

Lancaster Cast Iron
Lancaster Cast Iron was founded in 2018 by Mark Longenecker and Brandon Moore and makes lightweight, smooth-finish cast iron cookware. Their manufacturing facility is based in Pennsylvania and their product line includes a 5 Quart Dutch Oven with a smooth, pre-seasoned cooking surface and classic double-handle design featuring tall walls for various dishes from stews to roasts. They sell the versatile Lancaster No. 8 Cast Iron Lid separately (it’s also compatible with the No. 8 skillet that they sell).
Honorable Mention

All Clad Metal Crafters
All-Clad Metalcrafters was started in 1971 by metallurgist John Ulam in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The company specializes in premium cookware developed through Ulam’s expertise in bonding metals. They operate from their Canonsburg manufacturing facility and create multi-ply cookware that combines different metals for optimal cooking performance. I saw that they offer a number of different Dutch ovens, but quite a few of them are manufactured overseas. The reason why I have included All-Clad on this list is that the body of some models is made in the USA, with the handles being made overseas.
