Almond Surfboards was founded in July 2006 by Dave Allee, a passionate college student from Costa Mesa, California. Initially, Dave started shaping surfboards in his hometown, driven by a desire to create boards that enhance the surfing experience by catching waves earlier and more often. This hands-on start laid the foundation for what would become a beloved brand in the surf community.
In March 2009, Almond Surfboards opened its first shop on Old Newport Blvd in Newport Beach, California. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its handcrafted, high-quality surfboards. In 2012, they moved to a larger location on Pacific Coast Highway, and by 2015, they settled into their current, even bigger, freestanding store on Santa Ana Ave in Costa Mesa.
